Mercury grants Mars three wishes. 
Mars talks through his motives, 
as he considers his first one...

I want to be the bank 

of the river, where 
jewels wash up, 

and you fill your pockets 
with precious stones 

you trade for dreams 
you want to build.

The bank, no matter  
where.  What's in it 

for me?  What gem 
do I desire to extract 

from such a scheme? 
A sense of belonging? 

A guilt release? 
A metric to prove 

I'm enhancing life 
while I love my own? 

Completely myself? 
I want to be 

the bank, where 
frogs hop out and in 

again.  They venture 
'round, lilting the air 

as they court life. 
I want to be the bank, 

where wanderers stand 
to quench their thirst.
